Using The iPhone’s Do Not Disturb Feature

Turn on the iPhone’s Do Not Disturb feature to completely silence your iPhone (or iPad). This feature can be very handy if you sleep with your iPhone or iPad close to your bed. I typically have my iPhone’s ringer set to Silent mode, but if I’m in a meeting and I don’t want my phone to buzz or ding at all then I will enable Do Not Disturb.

You can manually turn on Do Not Disturb from the iPhone’s Control Center. Briefly, to access the Control Center swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone’s screen. Start your swipe slightly off the screen, right next to the home button. Then, once you see the Control Center’s options tap on the crescent moon icon to enable Do Not Disturb. Tap this icon a second time to turn it off.

You can also configure Do Not Disturb to automatically turn itself on and off daily.

  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on Do Not Disturb
  • Slide the Schedule button to the on position and set start and end times.
