Would you like to schedule emails to be sent in the future? You can by installing Feingeist’s SendLater plugin (see update below) for Apple’s Mail application. Once installed SendLater adds a button in Mail. Cleverly, the button’s name is Send Later! When you click this button you’ll see the window pictured below. This windows provides you a range of scheduling options. Here are a few examples of how you might use SendLater:
- If you’re working at night or on a weekend, you might schedule emails to be delivered on the next workday.
- You might want to write a birthday greeting when you think of it, but use SendLater to have it delivered on the actual birthday.
- You might want to send a friend or a colleague a reminder in an hour or the next day.
[UPDATE: April 2016 SendLater is not compatible with OS X El Capitan (aka OS X 10.11). SendLater has been merged with other products to become a new application named Mail Butler. MailButler offers the same send later feature as well as several other features. Perhaps I’ll cover MailButler in a future Tech Tip MailButler is free to use, with some limitations. The full-featured version requires a monthly subscription.]
