The Control Center provides easy access your iPhone’s flashlight, alarm clock, calculator, camera, and more. The Control Center was added by Apple to iOS 7 which was released in the fall of 2013. I think it’s one of the best changes Apple has made to iOS. To access the Control Center on your iPhone, slide your finger up the length of the screen. Make sure you start with your finger off the bottom edge of the screen. To close the Control Center press the Home button.
The Control Center can be accessed from any screen, even the lock screen. This is what makes it so convenient. The Control Center contains buttons for frequently needed items. Personally, I use the flashlight often, but it’s nice to be able to quickly set an alarm, start a timer, enable Airplane mode, or turn Wi-Fi on or off. This MacWorld article covers Control Center in greater detail. If you have an iPad, you can access the Control Center on it as well, but it doesn’t have buttons for a flashlight or calculator.
